FORMATION

"STANDING UP FOR THE CEYLONESE".
That was a heading right across page 27 of The Sunday Star on 27th March,2005. Within that full paged interviewd article, the newly elected Malaysian Ceylonese Congress President, Datuk(Dr) N.K.S Tharmaseelan said, "We are not a superior race. We just don't want to be the first of the lost race of Malaysia".

Mr K.Thiruselvam, upon reading this article, took upon himself to form a branch in Seri Petaling. This was the beginning of an objective. It was difficult, in this predominantly Chinese townships of Sri Petaling. Leaflets, flyers and knocks on doors of many homes resulted n the recruited first 25 members, being minimum requirement to start a branch.

Having got ourselves registered, the first meeting for 15th October 2006 had to be rescheduled for 29th October 2006. The first elected committee is as shown below.
