That was a heading right across page 27 of The Sunday Star on 27th March,2005. Within that full paged interviewd article, the newly elected Malaysian Ceylonese Congress President, Datuk(Dr) N.K.S Tharmaseelan said, "We are not a superior race. We just don't want to be the first of the lost race of Malaysia".

Read that full page historical, informative page repeated elsewhere in this blog.

Mr K.Thiruselvam, upon reading this article, took upon himself to form a branch in Seri Petaling. This was the beginning of an objective. It was difficult, in this predominantly Chinese townships of Sri Petaling. Leaflets, flyers and knocks on doors of many homes resulted n the recruited first 25 members, being minimum requirement to start a branch.

Having got ourselves registered, the first meeting for 15th October 2006 had to be rescheduled for 29th October 2006. The first elected committee is as shown below.

3rd August 2008, saw the new branch committee elected. MCC Sri Petaling had it's inaugural meeting on 27th October,2006.Now it goes into its second tenure, with aplenty to be done from membership increment to delivery to members. ACTIVITIES section illustrates the broad spectrum of activities, geared towards self development, inter-members cum family activities, and social orientated types, so as not to cocoon ourselves. The new committee line up is as follows, and in brackets suggests earlier term of position, if held.

K.THIRUSELVAM, who initiated the branch in Sri Petaling, was
voted in as CHAIRMAN, for the second term of 2008-2010.Always
wanting activities and projects, his suggestions are branch
activities getting National Level attention, like the Tamil
language classes. On the other hand, to be known as a branch in
existence, do have activities at local or district level.
